Decorating Set

Complete decorating set for a terrarium or other enclosure. Contents of the set:

Ant mask  

Introduction  

With this cool ant mask, you'll see the world like a real insect. The compound eyes are incorporated into two beautiful lenses. The compound lenses consist of multiple small lenslets, allowing you to see everything in small parts. Additionally, everything appears red through these glasses. Just like ants, you now only see one hue.

How to use  

You can easily flip the compound lenses forward or backward. This allows you to see everything in red normally or to look with compound eyes like a real insect. Recommended for children aged 4 and above.

Food Tray  

Convenient tray for offering food to your ants. It's easy to place in any arena we sell. Can be used to administer a drop of sugar water or honeydew. Easy to clean and suitable for reuse.

Please note: we recommend still using a small piece of cotton in the food tray and offering the liquid in it. Otherwise, ants may drown by getting stuck in the liquid.

Forceps Tweezers straight - Size M  

Use  

A handy pair of tweezers for use in caring for your insects. Subtly remove waste from their enclosure or add food to a specific spot.

Specifications  

The tweezers are size M, 12 cm long, and have a gripping angle of approximately 3 cm. It is a completely sturdy, straight model.

Pipette for administering fluid.

Decorative Stone Small  

Beautiful yellow or anthracite decorative stone in a small size. These decorative stones are available per 200 grams. This way, you give your enclosure a very natural and luxurious look. This stone is suitable for all (insect) enclosures.

The sizes of the stones vary; see the photo with the stones in hand for an indication of the size.

Tree Bark Substrate

A great product to cover the bottom of your terrarium/enclosure. This natural product provides a beautiful aesthetic and will delight your animals.

Supplied in a bag weighing approximately 100 grams. This is sufficient to cover the bottom of our terrariums. Of course, it can also be used to furnish our arenas.

Anti-Escape  

Application  

Anti-escape oil can be applied to the top edges of an ant farm to prevent the ants from escaping. It can be applied using a cotton swab.

Function  

The ants cannot get a grip on the (well) applied mixture; they slip and therefore stay where you want to keep them. Only for use on smooth surfaces (plastic/glass) without corners. In a corner, ants can always (partially) gain a grip.

Composition  

It is a mixture based on talcum powder, so it is not 'real' oil. The composition ensures that it can be used for a longer period (up to a year) without needing to be replaced. For a large colony or high humidity, it may be necessary to clean and reapply more often.

With every ant set or individual ant colony purchased, you receive a full-colour instruction booklet. Therefore, "Ants Are Heroes" is no longer necessary.

You can find ants everywhere around you: in the garden, in the forest, under stones, sometimes even in your home. They are often seen as pests, but in doing so, we do these animals an injustice. An old saying goes: 'Go to the ant, consider its ways and be wise' (King Solomon, Proverbs 6:6 from the Bible). You will find that the more you see of these creatures, the more you will appreciate them. You can truly learn from them. An ant colony is a wonder of nature.

In this booklet, you will find all sorts of interesting facts and background information about ants. Good to know when studying ants, but also useful for, for example, a presentation or talk.

Red film for ant farms  

Red film with which you can protect your Ant Farm. The film is easy to cut to size as desired. We advise using this film to protect part of the nest. You can also leave a part exposed to light. The adhesive film darkens quite a bit, so keep that in mind (observing will become a bit more difficult, but that is of course good for the ants)!
