Breeding

In the butterfly garden, you can breed your own butterflies. Between March and September, you can order a caterpillar refill here. We will arrange the order and payment for the caterpillars and inform you about the shipment from the breeder.

Shipping and Care

Typically, in a few weeks, you will receive 3-5 fresh caterpillars and special food delivered to your home by our breeder (in some cases, this may take a little longer, depending on breeding). Now you can really get started. Butterfly breeding can be done from March to September. The aim is for 5 caterpillars to be shipped, with a guarantee that you will receive at least 3 and that these will develop into healthy butterflies.

First, the caterpillars will eat their own food (included) so they can grow well. Then they will hang upside down in crystal-like spun cocoons. In the final phase, they will emerge as beautiful butterflies. Observe them for a few days and then release them.

The caterpillars are shipped by our breeder from England. Generally, the shipping time for the caterpillars is about one week.

Egg Incubation Box

Practical

This incubation box is simple, but perfectly suited for its purpose. You can use it to hatch eggs from stick insects, leaf insects, and young praying mantises. With the right food, you can even keep a number of hatched nymphs in it!

It's a completely transparent box measuring 10 by 10 by 6 cm high.

Ventilation

The box is equipped with ventilation holes on both sides. So, the necessary ventilation is provided for.

Possibilities

You can easily provide the box with a layer of sand, a paper towel, napkin, or other material. Take care of your eggs by keeping them in a warm place and lightly misting them regularly.

Tree Bark Substrate
