Breeding Cage Netcage XL
Practical
This breeding cage is a super practical cage for stick insects, praying mantises, butterflies, and caterpillars. It's a lightweight cage made of sturdy mesh in a large size: 90 cm high, 60 cm wide, and 60 cm deep.
Ventilation
The mesh ensures sufficient air circulation and grip for the insects you can keep in it. The cage can be used both on its side and upright, making it suitable for, for example, a group of Gongylus gongylodes or Phyllocrania paradoxa praying mantises, or for stick insects and a large food plant.
Features
The bottom is made of black plastic and one side is made of completely transparent plastic. All other sides are made of fine mesh. The plastic sides are there so you can use that side as the bottom and no water etc. will come through. There is a zipper with two closures on one side of the cage so you can easily access the inside. There are two handles at the top for easy transport or for hanging it up. Finally, the entire cage can be folded into a package of approximately 20 x 20 x 4 cm. An elastic band attached to the cage holds the bundle together. Perfect for transporting or storing the cage!
Usage
Breeding cages are super handy for keeping stick insects, praying mantises, butterflies, and caterpillars. They are convenient because they allow a lot of air through, are large, lightweight, easy to set up quickly, and then easy to pack away again. The cages are very sturdy.

Caterpillars, butterfly garden refill
Your own butterfly garden at home
Become part of nature and witness the wonder of a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly. Right before your eyes! Order your caterpillar refill for 3-5 caterpillars here.
Breeding
In the butterfly garden, you can breed your own butterflies. Between March and September, you can order a caterpillar refill here. We will arrange the order and payment for the caterpillars and inform you about the shipment from the breeder.
Shipping and Care
Typically, in a few weeks, you will receive 3-5 fresh caterpillars and special food delivered to your home by our breeder (in some cases, this may take a little longer, depending on breeding). Now you can really get started. Butterfly breeding can be done from March to September. The aim is for 5 caterpillars to be shipped, with a guarantee that you will receive at least 3 and that these will develop into healthy butterflies.
First, the caterpillars will eat their own food (included) so they can grow well. Then they will hang upside down in crystal-like spun cocoons. In the final phase, they will emerge as beautiful butterflies. Observe them for a few days and then release them.
