Specialists in ants, free advice

Atta cephalotes ant colony 100+

Species

The leafcutter ant, Atta sp, also called a parasol ant from South America. This species is best known worldwide for the fungus they cultivate and the large amounts of leaves they need for it.

Due to this unique behavior, they are extremely suitable for (large) zoos, specific museums and pet stores.

Nutrition

This species lives off a fungus. To create this fungus, the ants use various leaves. The colonies can only be picked up in our showroom, where we also provide advice on nutrition.

Suitable for

The ant colony is only suitable if you have knowledge and experience with keeping ants. We also expect to be able to offer an Ant Farm specifically for this species by early 2020.

Pick-up only

Because this is a difficult, specific species, sensitive to temperature/humidity, we do not send them by post. In addition, we are happy to provide brief advice when purchasing such a colony.
